My year in grade 5
My year in grade 5 was an interesting fun year I think it helped me understand myself better and my strengths and weaknesses it improved me as a person and improved my education in many different ways and it made me more courageous.
Reading
in reading this year I improved by a lot in jots stamina and choosing books I like. For example last year the most pages I read was 100 and know I can finish a whole book that has 300 pages in a day. I also do a lot more jots in my book instead of one chapter is one jot every three or two pages will have a jot. and know I can pick that fits me perfectly instead of being too easy like the diary of the wimpy kid or too hard. And in reading one thing I want to work on is finding the meaning of the book.
writing
in writing workshop this year my strength is organization and one thing I liked about writing is how the different units we had especially fantasy and another thing I enjoyed was the nonfiction unit. In writing one thing I want to work on is my craft.
math
my strength in math was multiplication and division and also calculating the volume of things for example at the beginning of the year my map test score was a lot worse than the one I have now and my math test scores have improved. In math, one thing I want to work on is using area models.
science
grade 5 science was my favorite subject in the year my strength was the creativity in what would build and something I liked about science were the experiments like with the olive oil and different liquids that would go on it. In science one thing I want to work on is choosing the right experiment to do.
social studies
in social studies, we studied the Aztecs my strength was making the poster and gathering the evidence and information and another thing in social studies was presenting the poster that Adam and I did Which I thought we did fine in. In social studies, I want to work on organization.

most challenging
I think the most challenging for me was in writing fixing my run on sentences but I think that since the beginning in the year to the end of the year that my run on sentences has improved.
most enjoyable
I think the most enjoyable was science when we had four issues oil spills, fossil fuels, recycling, and dirty water and for each one there would be a solution you would need to do for oil spills you would clean an oil spill and for dirty water, you would make a water filter and for recycling you would make furniture out of cardboard and for fossil fuels you would make a solar oven or a solar water heater and I really enjoyed making a solar oven with my partner it was really cool and you would need to be creative and have your own design.
most proud of
I think I am most proud of the solar oven that my partner and I built together because it works and it takes creativity and not all things in school take creativity.
most growth
I think I have the most growth in writing with my punctuation seeing my old on demand and writing my new one.
